… this! Because of the continuously down-pouring rain I stranded in Nagasaki this morning. Yesterday I also had a soaked start, so today I figured that I could stay in Nagasaki for the day and make an attempt to dry all my stuff.
After some obligatory sightseeing (still in the rain) I found the computer in the hostel to finally upload my GPS-tracks. And yes, it is still raining. Luckily tomorrow will be better!

Currently the speedometer on my bike indicates that I have cycled a whopping 2396 kilometers, and I am still loving it! (Except on windy or extremely rainy days…)
My stay at the rice farm in Warabi Tano, Kokonoe was amazing. It was really interesting to learn about the relatively traditional way of life the farmer and his family practiced, and the work that we did was nice. Mostly outdoor, some pretty physically demanding but also related to cooking and cleaning the ryokan that they run in their 273-year old (Edo-era!) authentic farm.
The 10 days or so that remain until my ferry ride to Osaka (from Miyazaki, in the evening of May 29th) will be filled by a nice round-tour of Kyushu. And after that the cycling will be less lonely, because Arnoud will join me in the fun of riding back from Osaka to Tokyo!
